The Pensacola Civic Band is an organization of adult instrumental musicians who want to continue performing in a band after high school and/or college. The band meets every Tuesday evening from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Kennedy rehearsal hall, room 884, at Pensacola Junior College. The band performs from 6 to 8 concerts per year at the Saenger Theatre, Seville Square, Pensacola Junior College, and other locations throughout the city.

In 2002, the Civic Band won the most prestigious award for community bands in America, the Sudler Silver Scroll from the John Phillip Sousa Foundation. The purpose of the award is to identify, recognize, and honor those community bands that have demonstrated particularly high standards of excellence in concert activities over a period of several years, and which have played a significant and leading role, year after year, in the cultural and musical environment of their local communities.
