The Pensacola Civic Band, now in its 50th Season, has a great season planned for 2021 and 2022 that include some fantastic guest artists. Below are short descriptions, dates & times, and locations of the upcoming concerts this season. Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on the great music Pensacola has to offer.
On October 2, 2021, the Pensacola Civic Band will start its 50th Season with a concert held at the Pensacola Saenger Theatre entitled “Passing The Baton.” This concert will be one of celebration and introduction. First, we will celebrate and honor Don Snowden for his many years of music education and excellence. “Having Don Snowden at the podium is a tremendous way to kick off the 50th season of the Pensacola Civic Band and allow the Pensacola community to say thank you one more time,” says new director Doug Holsworth. After Don Snowden conducts the first piece of the concert, he will pass the baton to the new director and we will be immersed in music that will help introduce him.
Featured in this concert are the singers of the Pensacola Children’s Chorus Ambassador Choir. The Ambassador Choir is comprised of veteran PCC singers in grades 7-12. These singers are chosen for their advanced vocal and listening skills as well as strong commitment to community service and supporting others. The Ambassador Choir endeavors to showcase the benefits of music education and reveal the transformative power of music.
This is one of the most favorite times for the Pensacola Civic Band and for the Pensacola Music Community. With a festive air and bounce all around, we surround ourselves with the sights and sounds of Christmas. From decorations throughout Downtown Pensacola to the buzz in all the stores, one constant is the music of the Holiday season.
We welcome back each year our favorite characters with open arms; Frosty, Rudolph, the Grinch, and many more, and sing their songs that bring back those fond memories. Join the Pensacola Civic Band at the Ashmore Auditorium and celebrate the season through music.
How many times do we hear a piece of music and we think of the vastness of space? From Star Trek to Star Wars, sunrise to sunset, shuttle flights to star lights, we are surrounded by the beauty and wonder that the stars have to offer.
The Pensacola Civic Band invites you to journey with us through space and time at our STARGAZING concert. Musical selection include Gustav Holst’s “Jupiter” and “Mars,” as well as great movie music from Star Wars, Star Trek, Apollo 13, and Guardians of the Galaxy. You’ll me taken to heights as you listen to guest artist, pianist and composer Andrew Gregg, perform original work entitled “Ancient Starlight.”
The Memorial Day concert is a free annual concert performed by the Pensacola Civic Band at the Hunter Amphitheater behind Blue Wahoos Stadium. Pensacola’s Annual Memorial Day Concert honors our country’s veterans, service men & women and military families. This concert reflects and honors the bravery and sacrifice of those who gave their lives for our nation.
Join the Pensacola community on Memorial Day, Monday May 30, 2022 as the Pensacola Civic Band performs songs in tribute to the United States of America, the true heroes who have defended our freedom, and the service men and women who continue that pledge today.
This concert is free and is an excellent way for the surrounding communities to come together with family and friends to continue the Memorial Day celebrations and have the opportunity to honor the men and women who have served in the military to maintain our freedoms.
