Trumpet Throw Down


On Saturday, March 29th, the Pensacola Civic Band performs its spring concert, “Party Down,” at the Pensacola Saenger Theatre. As a special treat, for the encore we want to fill the theatre with as many trumpet players that we can and perform the Rockey Theme “Gonna Fly Now.” The music is provided below in PDF format and includes all parts, including conductor score.

Here are some points of interest in regard to the participation and schedule for the concert:

  • Rehearsal is at the Saenger Theatre on March 29th (day of the concert) at 5pm. The Pensacola Saenger Theatre is located at 118 Palafox Street, but please use the Stage Entrance located on the South side of the Saenger at Intendencia Street and Jefferson Street.

  • One free ticket will be provided to those that participate to invite a friend or family member. All other tickets needed may be purchased at the Lyceum Ticket office (Pensacola State College) or at the Saenger Box Office. Each ticket is $10 (plus applicable service fee if purchased at Saenger)

  • Please wear ALL BLACK CLOTHES. A t-shirt will be provided and given to each participant to wear during the concert. It was specially designed for trumpet players.

  • Trumpet players will be stationed in the aisles, balcony, and stage for this encore piece.

  • The concert begins at 7:30pm.
